Simple, high-percentage patterns to win more singles matches.

More ▾

You do not need new strokes to win more singles matches. You need to use the ones you have more intelligently. At club level, most points are lost through errors, not won with winners, so the first strategy is simple: make one more ball than your opponent.

Start with the beginner-friendly strategy videos: hit crosscourt more often (the net is lower and the court longer), aim well inside the lines, and use height over the net for margin. The consistency lessons here explain why trying too hard to control every shot often causes more misses.

Intermediate players can then learn point construction: how to recognise the phases of a rally, when to defend, neutralise or attack, and how to build patterns around their best shot. The later videos cover specific opponents, such as pushers and heavy slicers, as well as tactics adapted from Carlos Alcaraz. Before your next match, choose one pattern and commit to it.
